Great brands and products evoke an emotional response

Some brands are so strong that you see them in a paint splatter. And then the past 30 years comes shooting past you.

Each day I’m bombarded with so much external stimulation that it was shocking to notice a paint splatter on 4th Avenue in Gowanus / Park Slope that resembles a Nike logo. Mind you, this was smaller than a dime.

In a split second, I was transported back to the day when I wore my first pair of Nike Cortez on the playground in 3rd grade. I can still remember how they smelled.
